I didn't know the Escalade got an 8-speed auto along with a new emblem.

Which, by the way, looks super good on the big Caddy.

I like how it's blended into the chrome strip under the back window:

The Platinum trim level is back too. Which has a really boring interior color scheme I think. You get the option of tan everything or black everything.

Yawn, Kona Brown leather option please.

It's $97k. I bet it's over $100k with all the dealer and tax stuff. Good lord.

The emblem looks great but that grill is fuglyyyy...wooofff. The shape is fine but either its overall like wayyy to big or the slats are too thick. I'm not sure what the issue is exactly but it makes me make a face like I ate half a lemon.

I'd get a Yukon XL Denali and save like 20 grand and get almost the same thing. Though the interior won't be as luxurious.

I believe it uses the same 8-speed that's in the 2015 Corvette. It was designed to handle high amounts of torque so it can be used across GM's lineup of trucks and SUVs.

Helps to spread out the cost of R&D.

That shifter looks so out of place. It needs a dial or at least a smaller shifter.

It's a truck based SUV. Which personally, means it should have a column shifter.

I'd rather have a big meaty column shift like that then the repurposed blinker stalk Mercedes uses in their SUVs.

It's just to obtrusive, they are pointlessly big. Most of them are big for working purposes, but I seriously doubt these will be used on the job site.

Great looking truck. And the carmel interior option is really nice.

One tiny little gripe. On the old Escalade, if you selected "Visible chrome exhaust", you got this:

Which looks good. On the new one, it looks like this:

Why'd they change it? The old style looked pretty good.
